CHUM.

CHUM is people of faith working together to provide basic necessities, foster stable lives, and organize for a just and compassionate community.

Churches United in Ministry (CHUM) is a 501(c)(3) organization whose programs serve more than 8,000 low-income, homeless, hungry, isolated, or otherwise marginalized community members each year. CHUM was founded in 1973 when 10 churches in Duluth’s Central Hillside neighborhood pooled their resources to meet the needs of the neighborhood’s many low-income residents more effectively.

Steve O’Neil Apartments.

Named in honor of Steve O'Neil, one of the founders of Duluth's Loaves and Fishes Community, a St. Louis County Commissioner and long-time advocate and champion for ending homelessness in Duluth, the Steve O'Neil Apartments were created specifically to provide housing and services for families with children who had experienced long-term or recurrent homelessness.

In addition to providing 44 units of permanent supportive housing for families, the Steve O'Neil building includes CHUM's 6-unit Emergency Family Shelter.
